Cambridge esol exams
- YOUNG LEARNERS

The Cambridge Young Learners exams are suitable for children aged 7 - 12 who are studying English as a foreign language at primary or language schools. The exams cover all four language skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking. They are designed to encourage positive learning experiences (there are no pass or fail grades). Most children take them in their own school.

They are available in three levels:

STARTERS

The lowest level of the Young Learners English Tests and designed for children from the age of 7 who have completed approximately 100 hours of language study.

MOVERS

The second level of the Young Learners English Tests and designed for children between the age of 8 and 11 who have completed approximately 175 hours of language study.

FLYERS

The third and highest level of the Young Learners English Tests and designed for children between the ages of 9 and 12 who have completed approximately 250 hours of language study. It is equivalent to the level of the Cambridge Key English Test (KET) and provides the first step towards the main suite of the internationally recognised Cambridge exams for teenagers and adults.
