Special needs candidates

Some candidates may have special requirements which make it difficult for them to demonstrate their ability in English. Examples include candidates with a permanent or long-term disability, such as hearing/ sight impairment, dyslexia or a speech impediment; or with short-term difficulties such as a broken arm.

We can make Special Arrangements for them so that they can take the test on an equal footing with other candidates.

The request needs to be supported by original medical documentation (''Povijest bolesti''), which meets the following citeria:

is not older than 2 years and with a diagnosis written in English or Latin
bears the name, relevant qualification(s) and signature of a recognised practitioner
makes it clear how the disability justifies Special Arrangements
in the case of specific learning difficulties (i.e. dyslexia), evidence must include details of the degree of disability; must include an assurance that the evidence of specific difficulties was obtained through the results of appropriate and recognised tests, and a report must be provided by a fully qualified psychologist

The candidate also needs to fill out a Special Arrangements Request form, which will be emailed to him by the centre.

For IELTS, applications for modified material must be made at least three months in advance of the test date; and for administrative arrangements (i.e. extra time), at least six weeks in advance.

For Cambridge ESOL exams, the request has to be made at least 5 weeks before the registration deadline.

For all other exams, please contact your university/ institution first, to check if such provision would be possible.
