Our Learning Centre is a multimedia centre for people of all ages to improve their English skills in their free time. It is a great opportunity to complement classwork using a great variety of books, graded readers, tapes, computers, and DVDs from elementary to advanced level.
Membership of the Learning Centre is free for students on British Council language and teacher training courses but is also open to the general public.

It is a great opportunity to consolidate the work you do in class, using a wide range of books, graded readers, audio and video cassettes, covering all levels from beginners to advanced.
In order to get the most out of the Learning Centre you can use any of modern computers with Internet access, DVD players and Real Audio.
You can:
access the Internet with Student Links to help you practise EnglishMost of our DVDs are codified in the British PAL system, which is not compatible with the American NTSC system, and are Region 2. However, you can watch them in the Learning Centre.
Using our Online Library Catalogue you can search for the materiales you need and know their location before coming to our Learning Centre.

Our students have a free membership during the course time.
If you are not studying with us, you can still join it by paying a membership fee according to the categories below.
To join the Learning Centre you have to:
bring a valid ID that confirms that you are a student or a teacher in order to get the respective membership rate1400 - 1900
Tuesday - Friday0700 - 1900
Saturday0800 - 1500
You can have books and tapes up to one month and DVDs up to eight days.
You can borrow up to three materials, but no more than one DVD at a time.
The date on which you must return the materials can’t be extended. You have to return the books, and wait at least one day to borrow them again.
You an reserve any material that is lent to another customer. Once the customer returns it, the Customer Service team will inform you by e-mail that the material is available and will keep it for you for three business days. If you do not pick up the material by that time, the reservation will be cancelled and the material will be placed on the shelves.
You will have to pay a fine of $500 per day per material borrowed. The fine for DVDs is $5,000 per day.
You will not be able to borrow materials until the fine is paid.
You must buy the materials in a British bookstore or publishing house.
When borrowing materials, you must verify they are complete and in good state.
You must inform the Learning Centre as soon as possible in order to block your account temporarily and must pay $10,000 to get a new membership card.
