The TKT:KAL tests the knowledge of the structures of the English language, the concepts behind language teaching theory, and the framework and terminology used in teaching English. It allows teachers to expand their professional profile and understanding.
This is a one-module stand alone test which offers a more in-depth analysis of candidates TKT skills than the areas covered by module one of the standard test.
TKT: Knowledge About Language is an optional module of TKT and follows that exam’s format. It consists of a single paper lasting 80 minutes and containing 80 questions. The exam is divided into four parts:

1.Lexis (20 questions)
2. Phonology (15 questions)
3. Grammar (30 questions)
4. Discourse (15 questions)
