The TKT: CLIL describes an evolving approach to teaching and learning where mainstream subjects such as mathematics, science and social sciences are taught and studied through a non-native language. With this approach, it is the subject content which drives the language presented.
With the growing global need for language learning, particularly for English, candidates who are teachers of other curriculum subjects as well as candidates who are language teachers can add TKT CLIL to their existing qualifications. This exam is also a one-module test which will demonstrate teachers’ understanding on how to teach a broader range of subjects and therefore enhance their career prospects.
TKT: Content and Language Integrated Learning is an optional module of TKT and follows that exam’s format. It consists of a single paper lasting 80 minutes and containing 80 questions. There are two parts to the test:
AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE
1. Knowledge of CLIL and Principles of CLIL (25 questions)
2. Planning, Teaching and Assessing
