Many UK institutions and commercial companies provide financial support to the Chevening candidates. These joint programmes are part of Main Chevening programme. They are only available to the Chevening candidates who apply for one of the institutions of the joint programme. Chevening candidates will be informed by Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy/General-Consulate whether they are supported by one of the joint programmes.
FCO/THE UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE (CHINA) PROGRAMME
A maximum of six awards are to be made under the Programme. Awards will normally be for a maximum of 12 months for study at postgraduate level on taught courses leading to a Master’s degree. The awards will be available for any course in the University of Cambridge. Scholarships are tenable at any college in Cambridge.
Only those who have been shortlisted for the Chevening Scholarship, and hold a University of Cambridge offer are eligible for the Programme.
Each award will provide for payment of academic tuition up to £12,000; college fee; a monthly stipend for living expenses sufficient for a single student, a return international ticket, and any other allowances that have been determined by HMG. Any costs incurred during pre-course language training will have to be met by the scholar.
FCO/THE UNIVERSITY OF SHEFFIELD CHEVENING (CHINA) PROGRAMME
One award is to be made under the Programme. The award will normally be for a maximum of 12 months for study at postgraduate level on taught courses leading to a Master’s degree. The awards will be available for any course in the University of Sheffield.
Only those who have been shortlisted for the Chevening Scholarship, and hold a University of Sheffield offer are eligible for the Programme.
The award will provide for payment of academic tuition fees, a monthly stipend for living expenses sufficient for a single student, a return international ticket, and any other allowances that have been determined by HMG. Only those who have been shortlisted for the Chevening Scholarship, and hold a Kingston University offer are eligible for the Programme.

Only those who have been shortlisted for the Chevening Scholarship, and hold a University of Westminster offer are eligible for the Programme.

BARCLAYS CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIP
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom (the FCO), Barclays Capital, the Investment Banking Division of Barclays Bank PLC (Barclays), and the Ministry of Finance People’s Republic of China (MOF), the Export-Import Bank of China (China EXIM) and China Development Bank (CDB), covering co-operation for a joint scholarship programme entitled the ‘Barclays Chevening Scholarships'.
Under the Programme, China partners (MOF/CDB/China EXIM) will be responsible for nominating the candidates to the Chevening Scheme through the standard application process. These candidates will then be interviewed and selected by the British Embassy in China or one of the British Consulates-General in accordance with the standard Chevening Scheme selection procedure and process.
A Maxium of three candidates from MOF/CDB/China EXIM will be funded by the Programme.
Barclays Chevening Scholarships will enable suitably qualified students to undertake a one-year Master's Degree for any courses in any universities in the United Kingdom. The course must be of suitable quality and of direct relevance to the needs of the candidate. Given that the candidates are from China EXIM/CDB/MOF, it is expected that most courses will be in finance, economics, law, or business administration.
During the period of the Programme, Barclays will, at its own discretion, offer a number of summer associate positions to those Scholars who have successfully completed their academic study. Upon completion of the training Programme, the scholars must return to China and work for their employers.
