In 2002, working with Beijing Municipal Educational Commission and Beijing Academy of Educational Sciences, we introduced the ICT in Schools project to integrate ICT into the Chinese school curriculum.
This involved a training workshop attended by over twenty teachers, school leaders, researchers and government officials from Beijing, Zhejiang and Guangdong.
In January 2003, a delegation of fifteen people visited the UK to attend the British Education Technology Show (BETT) in London. The delegation included teachers, school leaders, researchers and government officials. In February 2003 Wired Communities—a Sino-British Workshop on ICT in Education was held in Beijing. Developed by our Education and Training Group e-Networks and Communities Team the workshop was organised to provide another platform for UK and China to exchange experience and expertise in ICT used in education. The three-day workshop attracted over 60 policy makers, officials, researchers, school principals and teachers from Beijing, Chongqing, Zhejiang and Guangdong.
