Synopsis
“The Unholy Trinity” invites you on a journey into the absurd world of life in a British care home for the elderly. Stuck, bored and increasingly frustrated, three intrepid care home residents hatch a plan – to go on strike. Casting off the rules and regulations that bind them, they attempt to buck the system and reclaim the freedom that is so woefully absent from their lives. Packed with absurdity and ridiculousness, their adventure culminates in a poignant story about dignity and the fight for life.
Performed in demi-mask, the ensemble creates a fantastical world filled chaos, wonder and sweet imaginings.
TongueTied Theatre
TongueTied Theatre is devoted to the collaborative creation of new theatrical works. Through our physically driven storytelling we explore the eternal themes of the human condition by illuminating the simple truths of everyday life. Ever playful, the company creates deeply imaginative and disarmingly spontaneous theatre that is larger than life but accessible to all. Our productions embrace the artifice of theatre by drawing on a wealth of theatrical languages. From mask to the absurd, we are constantly developing new styles and new stories to challenge both our audience and ourselves. TongueTied Theatre is based in York, UK and is an associate company of the York Theatre Royal.
