On the invitation of Beijing Fringe Festival ( www.beijingff.com) which will take place on 5-25 September this year, Davey Anderson from the National Theatre of Scotland will come to the festival to talk about New Writing in Scotland and the UK and lead a workshop with the Chinese theatre practitioners on directing New Writing.

Davey Anderson is a Scottish playwright, director and musical director. His latest play Scavengers premiered at Nine Theater, Beijing, as part of the Golden Hedgehog Student Drama Festival 2011. His other plays include: Snuff (Arches, Traverse, NTS, published by Nick Hern in Scottish Shorts 2010), Wired (Òran Mór, King’s Head), Rupture (NTS & Traverse), Liar (TAG & Sounds of Progress, 'Best Show for Children and Young People' Critics Award for Theatre in Scotland 2007), Blackout (NT Connections, TAG, ThickSkin, published by Faber in NT Connections 2008 and by Samuel French 2009), Clutter Keeps Company (Birds of Paradise) and Playback (Ankur). His work as musical director includes: Black Watch (NTS, international tour), Be Near Me (NTS & Donmar Warehouse) and Peter Pan (NTS & Barbican). Davey was Director in Residence with the National Theatre of Scotland 2006-07 and is currently an Associate Playwright with the Playwrights’ Studio Scotland.
