London, the capital of Britain, is located at the southeast of England, cross Thames River downriver both banks. Over 7 million people live there and the population ranks No.1 in Britain.

It is a national centre for politics, economy, transport, trade and culture. Plus it is the biggest harbour in the country and one of the international financial centres. Reasons such as its many heritage site, rich history, combination of different cultures and various attractions help London stand out and become one of the most attractive cities in the world.

The city of London only covers 1.6 square kilometres of land. It has more than 2,000 years of history and has always been the capital for the country and the formal home for the royal family. Greater London maybe divided into different areas: Central London, West London, East London and South London, the port region and the suburb and so on.

Each area has its own characteristic. Many Victorian style buildings can be found in the city. In the urban district, the postal service telecommunication centre is the highest building which heights is about 189 metres.
