Connecting Futures is a new five-year initiative from the British Council that aims to build deeper mutual understanding, learning and respect between young people from different cultural backgrounds. The initiative connects young people from all parts of the UK with counterparts in ten priority countries: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestinian Territories, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Current projects

An international forum bringing together 70 young people from all ten Connecting Futures countries to debate issues and share experiences and opinions.
An online current affairs magazine produced by 15-18 year olds from Turkey, Egypt and the UK.
An ecology project on the Sinai peninsula carried out by undergraduates from universities in the UK and Egypt.
Creative collaboration between recently qualified fashion designers from Indonesia and the UK.

Connecting Futures is a large-scale, long-term initiative offering diverse opportunities to reach niche audiences and derive social impact in important and sometimes difficult market places.
