China, 2004

Following the success of Henry Moore in China (2000), this exhibition is designed to continue the story of 20th century innovation in Britain through the work of Britain’s leading sculptors.  These will include Barbara Hepworth, Antony Caro, Phillip King, Eduardo Paolozzi, Barry Flanagan, Richard Long, Gilbert and George, Anish Kapoor, Tony Cragg, Rachel Whiteread, Bill Woodrow, Richard Wilson, Damien Hirst, Anya Gallacio, Antony Gormley, Michael Landy, Tracey Emin and Douglas Gordon.

These works will be selected by young Chinese curators in consultation with the British Council. Major loans are envisaged from Tate Britain.
