Migrant Integration Policy Index III

Europe's integration policies at your fingertips

The number of “third country nationals” (legal immigrants) living in the EU today is 20 million, and rising.  While immigration is an important part of the solutions to Europe’s economic, demographic and competitive issues, setting effective legal and political frameworks for integration is a challenge. To shape and improve effective integration policies, it is essential to have comparable information and fact-based dialogue.

What is the Migrant Integration Policy Index (MIPEX)?

The MIPEX is a reference guide and fully interactive tool to assess, compare and improve integration policy.  It measures integration policies in all EU Member States, Norway, Switzerland, Canada and the USA.  Using over 200 policy indicators it creates a rich, multi-dimensional picture of migrants’ opportunities to participate in society.

What can you do with it?

The MIPEX data is published as a paper publication and is available in a fully-interactive online resource at www.mipex.eu

What’s new with the third edition?

The third edition of the MIPEX covers more countries and more policies.  With new analysis over time it can identify the changing trends in Europe.

The third edition adds:

‘The objective of granting comparable rights, responsibilities and opportunities for all is at the core of European cooperation on integration’
European Union work programme 2010–2014 on Freedom, Security and Justice
