We encourage colleagues to use air-conditioning at a moderate temperature, not the lowest, and to close the doors and windows of air-conditioned rooms. In this way we use an optimal amount of energy, and we avoid unnecessary emissions of carbon dioxide.

Staff awareness
- A cross-departmental team of green champions in our office in Sofia;
- Poster and sticker campaigns and online surveys in the office;
- Email updates and short presentations about our progress with the Environmental framework at internal staff meetings.

- A campaign with posters in the toilets in the building about energy efficiency;
- An online energy efficiency survey in the office to raise colleagues’ awareness;
- 20% saved energy in the Energy Trophy+ European competition in 2007-2008;
- Energy efficient settings of office equipment.

Waste management
- We collect paper and plastic waste for recycling separately from general waste;
- We re-use paper and reduce the use of disposable objects when possible;
- Some of the services we offer are electronic and no longer require paper which eliminates paper waste generation;
- We dispose of old office equipment, including luminescent lights and batteries with a licensed company for recycling.

- In the office we use recycled, chlorine-free paper;
- Promotional materials produced from sustainable products – biodegradable bags, pencils from recycled CD case, Christmas cards, brochures and publications made from recycled paper;
- When we were choosing a provider to run the café in our building, we had various environmental considerations in mind.

- We have installed dual-flush water cisterns in more than half the toilets in the building.

- To manage progress we keep a record of the energy we use (car and plane travel, heating and electricity);
- The state-of the-art video-conferencing facilities in our building save travelling when we organise events;
