Skills for Employability is a British Council programme that addresses the demand for skills in a global economy so that national educational and training systems are better equipped to respond to labour market demands and learner needs.
Started in 2008, the Skills for Employability programme in Pakistan has so far contributed to develop five partnerships between the Pakistani and UK technical and vocational training (TVET) institutes/colleges.
Skills for Employability focuses on building strong relationships with industry and employers, governments and training providers, using the UK’s expertise on standards, innovation and creativity in the field of skill training where the UK is a market leader.
Through policy dialogue, seminars and conferences, Skills for Employability brings international agencies and governments together to share the skill challenges and solutions for their education and training systems.
To establish a professional network for Skills for Employability we are building links between leading experts in the UK and overseas to share best practice in the vocational education and training sector.
We establish international skill development partnerships that bring together colleges and other institutions around the world to boost employability and entrepreneurship skills, and to highlight excellence in enterprise, innovation and technology we organise international competitions for the youth.
