CoPro Documentary Marketing Foundation

The CoPro Israel Documentary Screen Market, which takes place every year during the end of May in Tel Aviv, is an event of an international nature, gathering Israeli documentary filmmakers with foreign high end representatives of the documentary global scene with  Nick Frazer, Aaqil Ahmed and Flora Gregory. The international coproduction market combines different activities, which take place concurrently during 7 days of full programming. Some activities hold an intimate nature such as 'one on one' meetings and 'close encounters', others hold a wider nature which includes a larger audience, such as Pitching Sessions, Panels & master classes, and cinematic tributes.

Peut Etre Theatre at the Holon Mediatheque

The Israel Festival for young audience is an international theatre festival. Inviting a British theatre director who has created a youth theatre in London The Peut-Etre Theatre gives us the opportunity to bridge between the two communities. Young audience in Israel has very few occasions to be exposed to international theatre, especially to British theatre in the highest scenic quality. The Mediatheque theatre aims to develop this concept by hosting shows from abroad to perform in front of the young Israeli audience and to create further exposure by professional workshops.

Theatre Ad Infinitum at the Israel Festival

Theatre Ad Infinitum is a multi-award-winning international ensemble based in London that develops new and original theatre for a multi-cultural audience. The Israel Festival is delighted to bring this significant fringe show to the Israeli audience.  Theatre Ad Infinitum will hold a workshop at the School of Visual Theatre in Jerusalem and will give two performances in the Khan Theatre within the framework of the Israel Festival Jerusalem.

Jerusalem International Film Festival

British Cinema in Jerusalem – creating a dynamic platform and meeting place for an exchange of ideas, projects and know-how of cinema, at the 29th Jerusalem Film Festival. The festival runs for ten days attracting cinema lovers and film professionals from around Israel and abroad. Over 150 films are screened from more than 40 countries – presenting an interesting mix of feature, documentary, short, avant-garde, and animated films. The festival features a rich international program that includes prestigious local and international competitions, special tributes to world-renowned film figures, professional panels, workshops and more. 4 British guests will take part in the festival: Rachel Weisz, Terence Davies, Lizzy Francke, and Janine Marmot, and will be present in screenings, hold Q&A sessions with the audience, deliver workshops and attend The Jerusalem Pitch Point 2012.

Seret - Israeli Film Festival in London

The Israeli film Festival is an independent non-profit organization set up as a charity, which is dedicated to engage British audiences with the richness of Israeli life and culture through the medium of film and TV. The Festival's main objective is to foster social awareness of cultural diversity, create platforms for discussions about current issues as well as giving access to the thriving Israeli film and TV industries that would otherwise not be seen as such.

The festival is an opportunity for cultivating and creating professional collaboration between British and Israeli professionals and exchanging new knowledge, new skills and more connections to encourage this collaboration particularly under the new co- production treaty between Israel and the UK. 7 Israeli film professionals, Dina Reklis, Sharon Bar Ziv, Ruth Lev Ari, Michal Aviad, Tomer Hayman, Keren Margalit and Adir Miller, will travel to London to take part in the festival.

Curious Minds Exhibition – Israel Museum
The Israel Museum will be hosting Curious Minds: Design in the 21st Century, a 1000-square meter exhibition showcasing the most innovative and interesting design projects by over 25 designers from across Asia, Europe and the Americas.  One of the themes of the show is Critical Design, a look at how to explore and bridge partnerships between design and seemingly unrelated fields, such as science and politics.  The exhibition will be accompanied by a One Day International Design Conference at the Israel Museum and a two-day workshop at the Bezalel Academy of Art & Design.  The visit of the UK designers Troika Studio, Studio Glithero, Freddie Yauner, Julian Bond, Raw Edges Design Studio, Alon Meron is supported by the BIARTS grant. The Curious Minds exhibit will be on at the Israel Museum from December 16, 2011 until April 30, 2012.

Jerusalem International Film Lab
The prestigious Sam Spiegel Film and Television School in Jerusalem will inaugurate the Jerusalem International Film Lab, a unique academic platform to train top talented young filmmakers and graduates to write full-length feature films.  The BIARTS grant will support the arrival of Clare Downs as she contributes her expertise in script development and editing at various intervals throughout the creative process.  Clare’s participation will conclude with a pitching presentation to an international panel jury at the Jerusalem Film Festival 2012, where two projects will be awarded production grants.  Downs will be working with the Jerusalem International Film Lab from December 2011 until Summer 2012.

Michelle Mangen at TLVFest

TLVFest, Tel Aviv’s International LGBT Film Festival is a unique annual event taking place each June at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque and the Tel Aviv LGBT Community Center. The festival offers public screenings of films with no Israeli distribution, meetings with local as well as foreign filmmakers, panel discussions and special events. The impressive program includes many exciting films while aspiring to enrich and empower tolerance and pluralism in Israeli society.

Michelle Mangen will deliver a master class: how to get started a short queer film? Participate in a panel discussion with festival directors and programmers, be a member of the jury at the international shorts film contest will present an award in the closing night of the festival and will play a DJ set at the festival party.

Wide Open School at Hayward Gallery

Wide Open School will take place at Hayward Gallery.  Up to 130 international artists will come to London to give classes and lectures on subjects in their areas of expertise.  In parallel to the programme of classes and lectures, one of the main galleries will present an exhibition of contemporary work exploring learning.  As the programme progresses, the exhibition will be expanded to include works that are produced in the classes.
