BECOME A MEMBER

Our library is the only place in Burma where you can find extensive information about all aspects of contemporary life in the UK.

Our members have access to over 24 000 books, 1 500 DVDs, popular UK newspapers, magazines and journals, along with live television news from BBC and free Internet service.

Different memberships

It’s easy to join the library. Just choose the type of membership more convenient to your needs:

Individual Membership

borrow 5 books/periodical at a time for period of 2 weeks
borrow 3 DVDs and 2 audio CDs for 2 weeks with service card
use the Internet for 10 hours a month

Family Membership

borrow 15 books and 3 DVDs at a time for period of 2 weeks
borrow 2 audio CDs with service card
up to 3 persons can use the library
use the Internet for 10 hours a month

Corporate Membership

borrow 35 books/periodicals and 10 DVDs at a time
use the Internet for 10 hours a month

Express Membership

access to our Reference Collection
use the Self-access Centre with a service card

All students from our Teaching Centre can join our library free of charge as well as use the Self-access Centre and Internet service.

How to become a member?

To join our library all you need to do is submit:

Proof of identity (student identity card or National Registration Card). Teaching Centre students need to show a valid British Council Student card
2 photographs for individual membership, 6 photographs for family membership
relevant membership fee

Renewal of Membership

The date of expiry is stamped on the library membership card. Members are to renew their cards a year from the expiry date to enjoy the renewal rate.

For renewals, please bring the library membership card, photographs and the relevant renewal fee.

OPENING HOURS

Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday - 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sunday - 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
