On January 27-28 2010 British Council and Junior Achievement Azerbaijan conducted national finals of Skills@Work Challenge competition in Grand Hotel Europe. The main partners of the programme is Azercell, the programme is also supported by Microsoft.
20 teams consisting of 100 people and representing 7 vocational schools, got together to participate in an exciting tournament. The teams developed business ideas on the first day and presented their solutions to a jury. The jury panel consisting of business representatives evaluated the proposed ideas according to their feasibility, innovativeness and team’s presentation skills.
Six teams with the highest scores were then given a theme ‘Offering a product or service using technology (mobile phone, computer etc.) for a modern education’ that they had to work on for the actual competition the following day.
The first place was given to Pozitron team that represented Vocational School named after Bul-Bul. The winning team will participate in the Challenge Competition in Belgrade, Serbia on 21-25 April 2010.
