Forms
The Power of Attorney is sent to companies working in Brazil. It is essential for British companies to have this well in advance (as soon as they are commissioned).
Once this is received, the following procedure applies:
- It should be printed out on the company’s letter headed paper
- A company director/board member needs to go to a solicitor, where they will sign it in front of them and then they countersign it. (This costs approx. £40-£50).
- This then has to be taken to the Brazilian Consulate, 6 Saint Alban’s St, London, SW1 4SQ, T: 020 7930 9055 ext. 700.
- Get a Giro slip, take it to the post office and pay for power of attorney (costs £16 + £1.15 for the post transactions).
- Leave this back at the consulate. It can either be collected a few days later or they will send it if you have a S.A.E. They will send to Brazil so you need to a 68p stamp from the post office when you take giro slip.
