ARTISTIC POLICY
Walk the Plank creates outdoor and site-specific work varying in scale from intimate to epic, often mixing striking visual images and special effects with music and performance. Engagement of local people in the process of making the show is often important for one-off events that celebrate particular locations or occasions. Touring work is often produced in collaboration with other companies.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘A luscious bouquet of sculptures and pyrotechnics… a mesmerising event that produced a child-like state of wonder in the audience.’ Total Theatre ()

‘Dholdrums in the Dark provided a fitting finale to Saturday's event – happening in darkness, the show is accessible, uplifting and spectacular.’ Julian Rudd, Festival Director

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Three performers bring the Fire Garden to life… a beautiful installation of gas-powered trees, flaming flower boxes, and pyrotechnic effects, with music. (25–30 mins, 7 on the road, up to 2,500 audience.)

Engaging, high-energy street dance on a giant ghetto blaster containing hydraulic lifts and lighting. (30 mins, up to 3 performances a day, 6 on stage, 9 on the road.)

Up to 30 decorated, sculpted, adorned, illuminated or bejewelled vehicles and their artists roam the streets causing mechanical mischief, in this magical parade. (All day or evening only event.)

FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
This 16-foot figure/puppet casts an icy atmosphere onto the streets, in contrast to the traditional ‘hot’ carnival queens, her cool breath and snowy blasts juxtapose with a fiery surprise…

WRAP-AROUND
We create workshop programmes to stimulate participation around shows – including carnival theatre, lantern and fire techniques, and production. Presentation available from Walk the Plank founder/producer Liz Pugh around outdoor theatre and site-specific performance, including practical work with students. Company Fierce’s artistic director, Darren Pritchard, can undertake residency or workshop/masterclasses in advance of performances.
