ARTISTIC POLICY
The company’s mission is threefold: to create new choreography, music and design; to provide a showcase for heritage repertory; to breathe fresh life into the established classics, making them relevant and exciting for today’s audience. Alongside this, and vital to the future, the company’s outreach work with young people and adults throughout the country brings enlightenment, knowledge and enjoyment. The activities of The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera are substantially supported by grants from the Arts Council England.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘It really doesn’t get much better than this. If you don’t have a ticket, do something dangerous to get one.’ Neil Norman, Daily Express ()

‘It’s thrilling and strange and sad, an immersive artwork in which boundaries dissolve between our eyes, and which, along with its companion pieces, Chroma (2006) and Infra (2008) places The Royal Ballet at the glittering edge of new dance.’ Luke Jennings, The Observer ()

‘This is a Nutcracker to cherish, and the opening night of its current Royal Ballet run did everything to convince me I’m right to hold it in high esteem.’ Debra Craine, The Times ()
