ARTISTIC POLICY
Hawaii-born Stacy Makishi is based in London and works in a variety of media including performance, installation, video, and poetry. A renowned workshop leader, she often opens her making processes to the public through creative workshops and talks alongside performances. She has shown work extensively in the UK and internationally, most recently at Tate Modern, the British Council Edinburgh Showcase, Southbank Centre, London, Thessaloniki Biennale, Trouble Festival Brussels and Escena Contemporanea, Madrid.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Drawing its inspiration from Paula Rego’s painting Girl Lifting her Skirts to a Dog, the classic play , and the sentimental film , is an exploration of lust, loss and a very different kind of love. This two-hander reveals the dark side of a couple’s tempestuous relationship through Makishi’s trademark absurdist humour. (45 mins, 2 performers, 2 on the road.)

An engagingly sad and elegiac tale about love, loss and moonlight. (1 performer, comprised of 3 x 20 min pieces.)

Mines the mysterious caverns of the human heart. (1 performer, length tbc.)

Here ‘lies’ a true story about luck, maps, kidnap, a lost ransom, lost love, donuts, , Fargo, betrayal and lies. (47 mins, 1 on stage, 3 on the road.)

FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
Round Midnight Cowboy Explores underworld characters living in hard times, a two-hander for theatres. (2 on stage.)

A new project, yet to be titled, to include four spoken word pieces, four films, one book. Pick and choose! (1 on stage.)

WRAP-AROUND
Performance, creative writing, professional development workshops, residencies, mentoring and masterclasses. Aimed at participants with any level of experience who are interested in the creative process.
