ARTISTIC POLICY
Rosemary Lee has been choreographing, performing and directing for over 20 years. Known for working in a variety of contexts and media, she has created large-scale site-specific work with cross-generational casts, solos for herself and other performers, installations and films. Her interactive video installation, Remote Dancing, has been presented extensively in galleries, art centres and festivals across Europe and at large-scale venues. Common Dance, a large-scale inter-generational work with 50 dancers and a choir of 70 young people was recently presented as part of Dance Umbrella 2009 at Greenwich Dance Agency.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘We sensed their uniqueness and multiplicity, as well as their common humanity. It was revelatory… From then on, as the stage darkened, the groupings and gestures felt charged and luminous.’ **** The Guardian ()

‘Lee's art achieves a transcendence that has little to do with commonly held aesthetic values in dance. It is about engaging with a life force that is expressed, not through words but through the innocence of a body with no preconceptions of itself.’ Dance Theatre Journal

‘Excellent! The most imaginative and engaging piece I’ve seen since Ollut Eliason’s sun at the Tate. Best thing in London today.’ (Visitor to)
