Richard DeDomenici

ARTISTIC POLICY
DeDomenici describes himself as a Gadfly, Trimtab and Quipnunc:
Person who upsets the status quo by posing upsetting or novel questions, or attempts to stimulate innovation by proving an irritant.
System specifically designed and placed in the environment at such time and place where its effects would be maximised, thereby effecting the most advantageous change with the least resources, time and energy.
Person who responds to current events, especially tragic ones, with quickly devised, sometimes callous jokes.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘DeDomenici is an excellent example of the best that live art has to offer. Clever, tremendously funny, powerfully political and unafraid to be accessible.’ Mark Brown, Sunday Herald

‘Interesting and pertinent to contemporary society, Richard DeDomenici is a performance artist whose artwork is cerebral, accessible and subversive.’ David Stevenson, The List

‘DeDomenici is one of the most intellectually gifted, imaginative and dedicated performance artists in the UK today.’ Mary Brennan, The Herald

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
In-flight meals taste different on the ground. Find out how and why at this pop-up art installation/restaurant that serves genuine airline cuisine in plastic trays. (30 mins, can be varied, 2 on stage, 2 on road, no interval.)

Plagiarism is passing off someone else's work as your own, yet appropriation is central to all art. Has it all been done before? Find out in this witty show about stealing ideas in the creative industries. (1 hour, 1 on stage, 1 on the road, no interval.)

Enduringly topical one-man touring show in which DeDomenici explores the complex and contradictory relationship between his artwork and the police. (1 hour, 1 on stage, 1 on the road, no interval.)

FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
To celebrate/commemorate the forthcoming 10-year anniversary of being a professional performance artist, Richard DeDomenici presents a look back at his output thus far, and draws some damning conclusions. (50 mins, 1 on stage, 1 on the road, no interval.)

Richard DeDomenici is all for health, and he’s all for safety, but just not necessarily at the same time. Richard examines the vagaries of international Health and Safety culture in this forthcoming full-length show. (45 mins. 1 on stage, 1 on the road, no interval.)

An audiovisual presentation derived from his own National Review of Live Art documentation bank, based on notebook entries, photographs and other ephemera amassed during his nine years in attendance. Absolutely no photography allowed. (30 mins, 1 on stage, 1 on the road, no interval.)

WRAP-AROUND
