ARTISTIC POLICY
Red Shift is an established company that has toured extensively in the UK and internationally for 27 years. We have recently turned to a new kind of work, bringing spectators into intimate contact with narratives of uncompromising honesty. We are particularly pleased to be encountering younger audiences at events like the Edinburgh Fringe and the Latitude Festival 2010. We make high calibre, site-sensitive performance, played in non-traditional settings, offering thrilling experiences to new and experienced audiences.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Accomplished… tautly staged… frank and full frontal… shines a light... it's not surprising when we squirm.’ The Guardian

‘Beautifully detailed observations... brooding intensity throughout... intimate... compellingly urgent performances… pressure and tension from all corners.’ The Scotsman

‘Superbly inventive and beautiful… grips the audience in a vice and refuses to let them escape.’ The List

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
A man and his children’s nanny. Their adulterous affair implodes horrifically in her bed, in a cheap rented room. (40 mins 10 on the road, includes nudity.)

Intimate, invisible, playful and shocking scenarios with intriguing soundscapes are overheard by roaming audiences wearing headphones. (Looped indefinitely, performed in crowded environments, some strong language, 10 on the road.)

WRAP-AROUND
Red Shift is Company-in-Residence at London’s Central School of Speech and Drama. Red Shift is capable of devising new work with client groups, running task-driven workshops and delivering seminars on topics related to most aspects of contemporary theatre-making.
