ARTISTIC POLICY
Kompany Malakhi is an innovative interdisciplinary company whose work seeks to challenge and deconstruct preconceptions through fresh and exciting physical language. Kompany Malakhi’s productions bring together influences from physical theatre, hip-hop culture, and contemporary dance. The company offers a unique and unexpected performance style and attracts a young, diverse audience to both its theatre, site-specific and outdoor productions. The work is supported by an education and learning programme that seeks to nurture new talent and increase opportunities for participation.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Fuses B-boys and BMX riders to explore the exchange of vocabulary between bike and bodies. An ambassadorial outdoor piece, celebrating the 2012 Cultural Olympiad. (4–8 performers, 2 technicians.)

Breaks down obstructions using physical theatre, dance, hip-hop culture, and parkour. The set acts as a metaphor for social barriers in 21st century society. (80 mins, 5 performers, 4 technicians.)

WRAP-AROUND
Kompany Malakhi provides workshops, residencies, masterclasses, post-performance discussions, and lecture demonstrations. The majority of wrap-around activity can be adapted to suit age ranges 13+ and Kompany Malakhi can work with both amateur and professional audiences and participants. Workshops and residencies include the vocabulary and dance styles that Kompany Malakhi employ in their work.
