ARTISTIC POLICY
Kneehigh’s storytelling is renowned for its distinctive physical, musical and visually-arresting style. Based in Cornwall, Kneehigh creates theatre of humanity on an epic and tiny scale. Kneehigh works with an ever-changing ensemble of performers, musicians, artists and administrators and are passionate about their multi-disciplined creative process. Kneehigh works to create relevant, innovative and emotionally-charged work and to reach out in meaningful ways to the non-theatre-going community.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Every so often a theater piece comes to town that is so brilliantly conceived and executed, so entertaining on every level, that you want everyone you love or even like just a bit to see it.’ San Francisco Chronicle ()

‘We all have a pair of red dancing shoes hidden somewhere. The question is whether we give into temptation and join the dance.’ The Guardian ()

‘A show from the wondrous Kneehigh, the company that has put the soul back into storytelling in the theatre. An artful confection… the cast never hold back for a moment.’ The Guardian ()

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Switching seamlessly between theatre and film using a combination of Coward's original stage play Still Life and the screenplay of Brief Encounter, Emma Rice, Kneehigh's Artistic Director, takes you back to a bygone age of romance and the silver screen from the moment the commissionaire opens the doors. The lives and loves of three couples are played out in the famous station tearoom using the words and songs of Noël Coward to create a breathtaking, delightfully funny and tear-inducing show. (1 hour 40 mins, plus interval, 12 on stage, 16 on the road.)

This tender, tasty and terrifying re-telling of the classic story is told through lively music, rough poetry, the most amazing gadgets and gizmos... and with the help of some rather unlucky rabbits. (Approx 1 hour 40 mins, plus interval, 6 on stage, 10 on the road.)

FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
Our girl can’t resist her red shoes. They make her dance with delight, spin with possibilities. But what happens when she can’t get them off? What happens when she can’t stop dancing? (Approx 2 hours, plus interval, approx 15 cast and crew.)

WRAP-AROUND
Post-performance discussions, workshops and ‘Lowdown’ sessions led by Mike Shepherd can be organised in conjunction with performances.
