REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Great music – played live, a real plus – and dancing of a lithe, loose-limbed panache made Aequus (choreographed by Jean Abreu) a hugely watchable piece.’ The Herald
‘Brazilian-born Abreu is one of the UK's most closely watched new talents, his language a fluid, muscular mix of modern dance, martial arts and Latin American traditions that look like nothing else on the London stage.’ The Guardian
‘The boy from Brazil certainly gives some good kicks.’ The Observer
CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Intimate duet between dancer and musician that explores the relationship between sound and movement.
FUTURE PRODUCTION
This piece explores the issues of imprisonment, controlled confinement and its effect on the human psyche. It intends to raise questions about the treatment of prisoners and their rehabilitation.
