Founded in 1978 to create innovative and accessible entertainment featuring puppetry, it now regularly tours throughout the world. Green Ginger enjoys regular collaboration with major arts organisations, including Welsh National Opera and Aardman Animations, and its members teach regularly at University of Bristol, Ecole Superieure National de la Marionette (France) and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (Wales, UK).

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Rust [is] a surprising repository of technique, invention, good taste and wild humour, an extraordinary moment of theatre and music.’ Expresso/Actual (Portugal)

‘Psychologically astute and caustically comic.’ The New York Times

‘So different from almost anything else you're ever likely to see in the theatre... a rare and wonderful thing.’ The Guardian

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Uses grotesque puppets, animated sets and absurd humour to tell the tale of two pirate radio stations anchored in the same murky coastal waters. One transmits from an ageing lightship, while its archrival broadcasts from a submarine lurking just beneath the waves. Contains strong language, violence and scantily clothed puppets. (75 mins without an interval. 3 performers, 6 on the road.)

(A static street theatre show) A simple and elegant street show in which members of the public are invited to sit while an Old Master recreates their likenesses in his inimitable fashion, giving the caricatures away free of charge. Gaston has been performed in 12 languages across four continents. With his instant portraits, cruel caricature and pencil-sharp wit, Gaston can ‘draw the crowds’ at any event. (20 mins, up to 6 times daily, 2 Performers.)

WRAP-AROUND
Workshops and masterclasses encompassing all of Green Ginger’s activities are available with or without shows to suit both professional and public participation. Post-show discussions, seminars and residencies are also offered. All of the above can be tailored to suit any age, experience and physical ability/limitation.
