ARTISTIC POLICY
Frauke Requardt’s work offers striking visual imagery, physically exciting dancing, strong theatricality, dark humour and an underpinning surrealism. She uses text and live music, often jazz based, and a mixture of abstract and emotionally based movement to deliver entertaining and intriguing performances.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘There was such simple harmony… great stuff!’ Ballet magazine ()

‘Requardt creates superb effects with her eight dancer-actors.’ Judith Mackrell, The Guardian ()

‘Requardt serves the project well, delivering an emotionally lucid gamut of set pieces.’ Luke Jennings, The Observer ()

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
lures the audience into unworldly, jazz-fuelled setting where we meet a rich cast of off-kilter characters including the ukulele man and his kooky cowboy sister, none of whom are quite what they seem. (80 mins, 9 on the road.)

Requardt challenges her dancers to spontaneously adapt her choreography to the changing nature of improvised jazz music. Full of mischievous humour and chaotic energy, played out to an intimately positioned audience. (60 mins, 12 on the road, sexually explicit.)

A humorous work designed specifically for restaurant and café settings where diners can choose from a menu of dances that slowly build up to a crescendo that takes over the whole restaurant. (60 mins, 7 on the road.)

FUTURE PRODUCTION
A piece consisting of six episodes of short dance stories that fit together like a puzzle. With three performers and live music.

WRAP-AROUND
Frauke Requardt & company offer high-quality education workshops that can be delivered alongside performances. Ranging from two hours to a full-day, these workshops consist of a release-based class, some repertoire with a focus on improvisation leading into a compositional, more creative part. They always contextualise the work and reveal how the company works. The company is also open to residencies and weekly workshops.

Pre- and post-show talks and discussions are also available alongside performances.

TOURING AVAILABILITY
