ARTISTIC POLICY
Filter brings together actors, musicians, technicians, designers, writers and directors to create both new works of original theatre and thrilling incarnations of existing texts. Filter’s shows create an on-stage fusion of live and recorded music and sound, naturalistic and stylised physical movement and video images. The live chemistry between these elements is a vital aspect of the company’s work.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Work that dazzles the eye, enchants the ear, and stimulates both the heart and mind.’ Daily Telegraph ()

‘Filter is a company blessed with wit, style and a touch of magic.’ Daily Telegraph ()

‘Fresh, fast and very funny… Chaotic, creative and zinging with vibrant irreverence.’ The Times ()

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
An inventive reworking of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedy, using live music and a playful performance style to create an exciting production more like a gig than theatre. Produced in association with the RSC. (75 mins, no interval, 8 on stage, 10 on the road.)

A Filter and Lyric Hammersmith co-production. Water intercuts between powerful individual stories exploring man’s desire to push himself to the limits in an increasingly unstable world of climate change. (90 mins, no interval, 5 on stage, 8 on the road.)

FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
Filter and Sean Holmes re-imagine Chekhov's Three Sisters as a hymn to memory, sound and character, and the search for ever elusive happiness. A Lyric Hammersmith production.

A disenchanted British journalist travels to Moscow to meet a controversial artist where she uncovers more than she bargained for, and profound truths about her own past. An RSC production, directed by David Farr.

As gold rush towns spring up all over the West Coast of America, Filter explores how a European odyssey came to populate these towns. Inspired by compelling family histories of Filter collaborators.
