ARTISTIC POLICY
DV8 Physical Theatre was formed in 1986 and has been led since its inception by Lloyd Newson. DV8 Physical Theatre's work is about taking risks, aesthetically and physically, about breaking down the barriers between dance and theatre and, above all, communicating ideas and feelings clearly and unpretentiously. The company has won 19 awards over the last five years for its stage and film works, including a Prix Italia and the Rose D’Or.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Astonishes with its haunting imagery, its humour, its drama, its often frightening extremes of physicality… This is total theatre.’ London Evening Standard ()

‘Immaculately directed and performed, it ranks as one of the richest unsparing theatrical experiences I've had in a long time.’ The Independent ()

‘DV8 have always been well ahead of the game. Now, just at a point when others are catching up, Newson reinvents the rules’ ()

CURRENT PRODUCTION
Looks at our quest for someone to love and something, or someone, to believe in. The tyranny of couples and groups, the pain of not belonging and the fear of being alone are all laid bare in a series of powerful images.

WRAP-AROUND
Workshops and pre-show discussions.
