ARTISTIC POLICY
Chris Goode’s work for theatre slips constantly between forms and modes, but common to all of it is a profound concern with the ‘liveness’ of the encounter between performer and audience, and an aspiration to stimulate intellectually as well as emotionally. The suite of small-scale work currently available for touring concentrates particularly on the creation of a genuine intimacy, seeded with the possibilities of radical social change. Works can often be adapted to specific settings or contexts.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘One of the most exciting talents working in Britain today.’ The Guardian

‘Chris Goode is an extremely highly regarded alternative theatre maker.’ Caroline McGinn, Time Out

‘Chris Goode has been described as British theatre's greatest maverick talent. But don't be put off: his work is much more enticing than that label suggests.’ Independent on Sunday

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Intimate site-responsive story-telling/documentary performance performed in (and partly improvised around) audience’s own homes. Can be tailored to specific contexts, eg festival themes, etc. (Approx 75 mins or by negotiation, 2 performers, 3 on the road.)

Immersive theatre/live art work exploring themes of loss and longing in relation to the social predicament of young men. 70 minute theatre version, or durational gallery/site-responsive formats. (Nudity and very strong sexual content throughout, 2 performers, 3 on the road.)

Text-based performance drawing on the content of a genuine web discussion board to create a telling (and outrageously funny) portrait of online interactivity. (65 mins, 1 on stage, 2 on the road, strong language and adult content.)

– A Christopher Knowles Reader Presents the rarely performed ‘typings’ of pioneering autistic writer and visual artist Christopher Knowles, with commentary on his unique textual work. (60 mins, 1 on stage, 2 on the road.)

Funny and tender story-telling show about the unlikely relationship between a gay teenager and a failed superhero. (85 mins, 1 performer, 3/4 on the road, some strong language.)

Dazzling performance compilation of classic avant garde sound poetry, experimental prose, artists’ texts and Fluxus scores. Particularly suited to educational contexts. (70 mins, 2 performers, 3 on the road, some strong language.)

FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
Live art/theatre piece, particularly suitable for galleries, inspired by the life and work of visual artist Bas Jan Ader. (70 mins, 2 performers, 3 on the road, contains nudity.)
