bgroup’s artistic identity is informed by Ben Wright’s concern to present meaning without explicitness, creating and presenting work that illuminates the fragility and beauty of our human condition. The work is characterised by excellent dancing, rich musicality, dramatic impact and the fluency of the images that Wright creates on stage. bgroup is a flexible entity; embracing a shifting range of performers and collaborations with individuals from different creative fields to respond to the requirements of a range of projects.

CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Staged within a circular configuration of chairs, is a contemporary take on ‘a congregation’ that draws upon conventions from the primitive to modern day. Littered with humour and text the dance is up close and personal to the audience.
Recreating a world of 70s disco grooves and glitter, big flares and big hair, Wright takes the audience on a journey from nothing to something spectacular in 15 minutes.
WRAP-AROUND
A range of activities that can be adapted for participants from beginners to advanced dance professionals; from half-day workshops to longer residencies that can culminate in a showing of work. Post-show discussions are also available.
