From small performances and workshops to full-scale pop or classical concerts, our music unit in the UK works in conjunction with our overseas arts managers to take UK music all over the world, challenging outdated perceptions of the UK and making new collaborations and partnerships. We work across the spectrum of classical music – from early music to contemporary classical to choral music.   

This area is producing some of the most vibrant new music in the UK today.    

Our work in this genre concentrates on the more distinctive underground aspects of the scene embracing the work of video jockeys as well as DJs.    

From Caribbean to Celtic rhythms, free improvisation, post-bop or funky, danceable grooves, today's British jazz scene is thriving.   

Opera, music theatre and vocal music represent a particularly rich seam of cultural activity in Britain.    

...sweaty poetry and torn jeans, electronics-propelled futurism or raucous fury. Live and broadcast, UK alternative music is enjoying popularity in the UK and overseas alike.   

Covering a wide array of genres including Reggae and Asian fusion, roots music reflects today's UK in all its diversity.   

Bringing a contemporary twise to tradition has proved to have a lot of opportunity for collaborations with artists overseas.
