Literature

Literature Events in the UK and globally

We co-ordinate literature events in the UK, including two biennial events: the Cambridge Seminar on Contemporary British Literature held in July (odd years) and the Bookcase, part of the Edinburgh International Book Festival in August (even years). We also organise the annual Oxford Conference on Teaching Literature each Spring.

At the annual London Book Fair we work closely with the organisers to provide visitors from developing and emerging markets within the publishing industry.

Overseas, we host the Walberberg Seminar, which takes place in Germany each January. We also provide advice and guidance to the overseas offices of the British Council on a wide range of types of literature activity including writers' visits and tours.

We maintain a comprehensive listing of annual and biannual UK Literature Festivals.

Please take a look at our Literature News page for the status on all our current UK and overseas events.
