Caine Prize for African Writing
The Caine Prize for African Writing is awarded annually for an African short story. The Prize is named after Sir Michael Caine, Chairman of the Booker Prize management committee for nearly 25 years. The British Council hosts a yearly colloquium to which the shortlisted African writers and British publishers, agents and authors are invited to discuss the short story in Africa.

National Association of Writers in Education
The National Association of Writers in Education (NAWE) supports the development of creative writing of all genres and in educational settings throughout the UK. Literature Department works with NALD in spreading the word that creative writing has a place within educational institutions overseas.
