ASHBOURNE FESTIVAL

This multi-arts festival has some literary content. Featuring creative writing workshops, poetry, Peak District Writers' Forum, and the songs, stories and music of Derbyshire and the East Midlands.

BROADSTAIRS DICKENS FESTIVAL
20 - 24 June 2009

A mixed arts family festival inspired by the works of Charles Dickens. Literature events include the Festival Play Hard Times, readings and talks. Other events include Victorian parades, cricket match, bathing parties, music hall entertainment, duels, melodramas and guided walks.

GRASSINGTON FESTIVAL

A general arts and music festival that includes some literary events. The main acts are housed in a festival marquee, but there are shows held in a series of venues including pubs and churches around the village.

HUMBER MOUTH: HULL LITERATURE FESTIVAL
June/July 2008

The Humber Mouth literature festival focuses on local contemporary literary talent as well as visits from well-known poets, authors and performers. The event incorporates the Hull Festival and includes a  range of day-time and evening events for all ages.

LONDON LITERATURE FESTIVAL
June 2008

Hear authors read and discuss work from children's literature to dub poetry, visit the riverside book market, discover the Saison Poetry Library and take part in debates and reading groups across Southbank Centre. LOWDHAM BOOK FESTIVAL

A festival including nationally-known fiction and non-fiction writers, poets, plays and music. In addition to the public events there is an associated schools programme and a year-round programme of literary events in the village. Further details for 2008 are not yet available.

NEW WRITING TYPES

STOKEFEST

The festival is held in Clissold Park, Hackney, and showcases a diverse range of local talent and creativity across various artforms. 2006's programme included Bob Boyton (the 'stoyteller extraordinaire'), comic poetry and readings of folk and children's stories.
