About Matias
Matias is 30 years old and lives in Buenos Aires. He studied Visual Arts (IUNA, Buenos Aiers) and Industrial Design (IED Madrid). He is the director of “Life on a Bike” and assists at many creative organisations on sustainable mobility and urban ecology.
About his project
“La vida en bici” (Life on a Bike) (LVB) promotes positive changes in urban mobility through art, strategic communication and creativity. He and his team develop projects so that cities around the world are increasingly friendly with bicycles, people and the environment.
LVB promotes the use of bike as a means of transport in cities. This is closely linked to the reduction of the carbon footprint and, therefore, this project contributes to mitigating one of the caused of climate change through daily transport.
Matias leads this project and works together with artists, designers, photographers, journalists, scientists, environmental activists, architects and urban planners. Although the project was born in Buenos Aires, it has Latin American and global reach.
What is the biggest challenge?
LVB started as Mati´s personal challenge but then it became something much larger. His major challenge now is to grow as a person, as a professional and as an activist.
What can Matias do to make a difference?
He will work hard, contact people who has the same optimistic view of the future, despite the big challenges to come. He will continue biking!
