The British Council, the United Kingdom's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations, is looking for a Business Development Manager to help us deliver our programme in Argentina.
Job Aim
To identify and agree financial and risk-sharing partnerships with a range of partners to deliver British Council activities in Argentina. The post holder will work in partnership with organisations such as companies, government agencies, other non-governmental organisations and high net worth individuals to co-fund and co-deliver British Council projects. The post holder will need to build and maintain relationships to insure influence with partners in Argentina, specifically in the Arts and Creativity sector, and ensure the British Council is regarded as a credible partner in that sector.
Context and Environment
Both Argentina and the UK have vibrant arts and cultural sectors. There is an ever growing demand for international collaborations and so there is great potential for an exchange of people and ideas between the two countries. Applicants should have a very good level of English and an excellent knowledge of the Arts and Creativity sector in Argentina. A relevant masters-level qualification is highly desirable. They should also have entrepreneurial skills and a proven ability to present well in public.

Business Development Manager (Arts and Creativity). The post will be based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Salary Scale
Starting salary from AR$ 136,000 to 200,000 per year (including aguinaldo), depending on experience. A salary review will take place in June, with any pay increase being awarded in July 2012. The salary outlined is before taxes and deductions.
Working hours
Contractual hours for full time posts total 36 hours per week. The office has a flexible-hour arrangement to be agreed with the line manager upon commencement of employment. British Council core office hours in Buenos Aires are Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 16:00.
Leave entitlement
21 working days, in addition to 14 public holidays per year.
