The British Council offices in Eritrea are now closed. The British Council came to this difficult decision over a period of several months during which it conducted a wide-ranging global review of its operations. The decision reflects the needs of the British Council in a complex and difficult global operating environment.

Despite the closure of the offices we are still providing support to learners of English and you can continue to read our LearnEnglish newspaper articles and listen to our LearnEnglish radio programmes every week.
