Advertisement for the recruitment of new ASAC members:
•Private sector, with expertise in ESP/English for executives
•Higher Education
The British Council is recruiting suitably qualified and experienced candidates from accredited institutions to serve on the Accreditation Scheme Advisory Committee (ASAC).
The role of the committee, consisting of 11 voting members, is to review and moderate inspection reports and recommend decisions concerning accreditation of UK English Language providers to the Accreditation UK Executive Board.
We are currently seeking to appoint one new member with knowledge and management expertise in the provision of ESP/English for executives in the private sector and one with knowledge and management expertise in ELT provision in Higher Education.
All candidates should have:
•knowledge and understanding of the UK ELT market.
•the ability to process information quickly and accurately in order to make sound judgements.
and
•considerable experience in and up-to-date knowledge of the provision of ESP/English for executives to international students, including marketing, course design and customer services
or
•considerable experience in and up-to-date knowledge of the provision of ELT in Higher Education.
The committee meets six times a year at the British Council in London. Members offer their services voluntarily. Travel expenses are reimbursed and lunch is provided. The standard term of office is four years with reappointment, following review, for a maximum of two consecutive terms. This appointment will begin with the first meeting in 2008 (26 February).
