Any product or service aimed at learners.
The award for innovation in teacher resources
Any product or service aimed at teacher, including training, education or development.
The award for digital innovation
A digital product or service that enhances learning through the innovative use of technology.
The award for local innovation
Learner or teacher solutions developed at a local, national or regional level to meet a specific local need and within a specific local context.
The Macmillan Education Award for Innovative Writing
Sponsored by Macmillan Education, this award is open to aspiring ELT authors who have not yet published any of their work. The winner receives £1,000 and the opportunity to publish their work

Innovative, practical, effective
The three main qualities that we look for in applications to the ELTons are innovation, effectiveness and practicality. The judges use their professional judgement to look for these three qualities in the entries.
It is important that you use the supporting statement to describe clearly and concisely exactly how your product is innovative, practical and effective.
Here’s a brief description of what we are looking for:
Innovative
There’s something new about the approach
Practical
The product is useable in a variety of different contexts, realistic and easy to implement
Effective
The product is likely to lead to better learning or teaching
Eligibility
Products or services must have been completed no earlier than 2 years before the application closing date.
Products entered in the ELTons 2012 must have been completed on or after 3 December 2009.
We allow one submission per organisation, per category, including any overseas offices.
Products can only be submitted to one category.
Products can only be submitted to the awards once, they cannot be re-submitted in subsequent years.
You can’t resubmit a volume in a series if a volume has already been submitted in previous years. This is especially relevant for the Course Award. For example, you can’t enter level one of a course one year and then the whole course, or another level the following year.
