CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
1976 Alesandra Seutin’s piece explores the Soweto uprising and the journey that led children to have been captured in one of the most eminent photographs from that time. (15 mins.)
Beast Douglas Thorpe's Beast looks at rage and the battle between the sides of the brain. The piece shows dance at its most extreme, both physically and mentally. (20 mins.)
Fast Lane Phoenix artistic director Sharon Watson’s new work uses a physical and dynamic language to explore the fundamental changes that can rock one’s life and the people within it. (13 mins.)
FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
The Audacious One By Warren Adams. This work, set to Mozart’s Requiem, has been inspired by the speech that first brought Senator Barack Obama to national and international attention and acclaim.
Aletta Collins – Previous work for Phoenix won the Grand prize for Ballet Theatre at the International Choreographic competition in Bagnolet in 1990. Aletta will create a new work that will reflect the characters and creative ability of the dancers.
Isira Mokuloluwe – in creating this new work, Isira brings with him his past experience, which includes his time with Alvin Ailey, Geneva Ballet, Coburn Ballet and contrasting street and hip-hop styles. The focus is dance movement and the changing world of performance.
WRAP-AROUND
