ARTISTIC POLICY
Nitro develops and produces musical theatre that is rooted in black culture, contemporary and essentially of a British experience. Nitro is artistically-led and collaborates with black artists and performers to create dynamic music theatre events. The company takes a visceral approach to story-telling, creating theatre that combines new writing, original music, drama and dance. Nitro’s productions celebrate black music, inspired and driven by a wealth of styles from reggae, calypso, salsa, soul, jazz and hip-hop to contemporary opera.

‘A seamless piece of contemporary black musical theatre that is both celebratory and reflective, populist and musically sophisticated.’ The Guardian (Passports to the Promised Land)
