ARTISTIC POLICY
Ludus Dance creates dance performances for young people, their families and audiences who are new to dance. The company creates vibrant, dynamic, thought-provoking and beautifully performed dance theatre, suitable for a range of venues.

REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Long may Ludus go where other companies fear to tread.’ The Guardian

‘Enacted in a provocative and absorbing hour-long production, which literally opens doors, besides demonstrating the power of contemporary dance.’ Lancashire Evening Post (ID:me)

‘One of the most provocative performances ever seen on the KL stage.’ The Star, Malaysia

CURRENT PRODUCTION
ID:me Exploring identity and our place in the world today. Weaving captivating true stories with surprising choreography and original music, the performance highlights contemporary issues such as immigration and anti-social behaviour. (60 mins, no interval, 4 on stage, 6–7 on the road.)

FUTURE PRODUCTION
Consequences In this triple bill, choreographers Nigel Charnock, Yael Flexer and Ben Wright (tbc) present contrasting depictions of the same theme: Newton’s theory ‘For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’. (60 mins, interval can be included, 4 on stage, 6–7 on the road.)

WRAP-AROUND
Post-performance discussions, masterclasses and training for dance professionals. Education workshop activities focus on developing individual creativity, while reinforcing links between the themes of the performance and elements of school curriculums such as citizenship. Teacher resource packs and DVDs are available from the Ludus website.

TOURING AVAILABILITY
ID:me from January to end of April 2010
Consequences from September 2010 to end of April 2011
