REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘The brilliance of Susurrus… is both a clever refraction of Shakespeare's themes and a distinct drama in it's own right.’ The Guardian
‘One of the most talked about forces in Scottish theatre.’ The Times
‘Theatrical maverick [with] a propensity for fearless experiment.’ Financial Times
CURRENT PRODUCTIONS
Sub Rosa A gothic Victorian promenade piece where a small audience journeys through the secret backstage spaces of an old theatre, encountering a motley crew of chorines, hoofers, sopranos and wig-masters. (90 mins, 7 performances a night, 6 on stage, 11 on the road plus approx 8 tour guides to be supplied locally.)
Susurrus Part radio play, part sonic art, part stroll in the park. The listener follows a map around a garden while listening to opera and a poignant story of love and loss. (Between 60 to 90 mins, depending on walking speed and size of garden, research site visit and subsequent set-up by 2 persons, 1 additional staff member to be supplied locally.)
White Tea A multi-layered visual theatre story of beauty and brutality, giving and grieving about ‘an estranged, adopted British daughter of a Japanese survivor of Hiroshima’ (The Times). (75 mins, no interval, 2 on stage, 6 on the road.)
FUTURE PRODUCTIONS
Holi Ceilidh In development, commission by National Theatre of Scotland. A joyous, uplifting large-scale music theatre piece where the audience participate in a Scottish ceilidh, which later transforms into an enormous dry paint fight, like the Indian Holi festival. (Duration, cast and crew to be confirmed.)
