ARTISTIC POLICY
Avanti Display aims to produce work that combines comedy, surrealism and spectacle to create our unique brand of English outdoor theatre. Our work varies in scale from the intimate to the epic, but is always engaging and entertaining. Our trademark has become the use of water, which we use to make performances that are beautiful and surprising, and driven by an internal logic. All our shows are imbued with a unique charm.
REVIEW EXTRACTS
‘Water, strikingly lit, gradually turn an area into a giant nocturnal fountain.’ The Times
‘The beauty of Hydromania was the use of this building as a performer in its own right. A wonderful piece of truly site-specific performance.’ Total Theatre Magazine
‘We are laughing helplessly, most of us, at the sheer bloody cheek of it, the daft logic, the wit, the invention and the humanity. We are soaked. It is a beautiful moment.’ From an essay by Cath Staincliffe from Paul Herrmann's book Playing with Fire
