If you're interested in a hands-on approach to learning the fundamentals of electrical engineering and technology, Penn State Erie's Electrical Engineering Technology program may be right for you.

Nearly every class has a related laboratory. Faculty believe students learn and retain more when lecture material is verified by observation or through the analysis of a circuit or system built by a student in a lab. In other words, you'll learn a lot by doing.

Typically, lectures and labs are taught by the same faculty member, providing continuity of information. And most classes are small (fifteen to thirty students), which fosters close interaction student-faculty interaction.

Our faculty focus on preparing you for a challenging career in industry. Each faculty member has significant industrial experience, which means ideas and lessons are incorporated into the curriculum by experienced teachers. Compared to a traditional electrical engineering program, less emphasis is placed on theory, and our approach differs from technical programs that focus on developing repair and maintenance skills.
