HR certification demonstrates your commitment to your profession and your mastery of core national or international HR principles.

Baruch CAPS courses offered in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) prepare you for certification exams leading to PHR (Professional in Human Resources), SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), and GPHR (Global Professional in Human Resources) designations:

  • SHRM Essentials of HR Management , designed for front-line managers, supervisors, and junior-level HR professionals , focuses on  issues related to performance management, recruiting, retention, and labor laws (such as FLSA, FMLA). Those who complete this course receive a Certificate of Human Resource Management from SHRM.
  • SHRM Learning System offers preparation for the PHR and SPHR certification examinations administered by HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute).
  • SHRM Global Learning System provides comprehensive test preparation for the HRCI’s GPHR certification

    At Baruch CAPS, we develop all of our Human Resources courses and certificates based on input from the Greater New York Metro market, our own surveys and those reported by national HR professional organizations. This introductory course in HR Management provides a broad overview of the HR function. It is designed to help front-line managers, supervisors, and junior level HR staff effectively handle issues related to performance management, recruiting, retention, compensation, and the latest updates in labor laws, such as FLSA, FMLA, and more. Those who complete this course receive a Certificate of Human Resource Management from SHRM.
